Make an appointment to lodge your development application with a customer service officer or to speak to a duty planner about your proposed development using our bookings portal.

Justices of the Peace

CBD (One Stop Shop) & Kings Cross Library

The NSW Justices Association operates a Justice of the Peace service desk on level 2 of Town Hall House weekdays from 10am to 2.30pm and level 2 of Kings Cross Library from 10am to 2pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The service is available to:

  • administer oaths
  • witness signatures
  • witness affidavits
  • witness statutory declarations
  • certify copies of documents.

Please bring copies as well as the original documents with you. If you have multiple documents that need witnessing or certification, the JP may ask you to leave them and come back at a later time to collect them. This ensures a timely service is provided to all customers.

Neighbourhood Service Centres

We have a register of City staff at our Neighbourhood Service Centres in Glebe and Green Square who are JPs. Our JPs can certify copies and witness statutory declarations only.

They can provide a maximum of 5 signatures per person, per day and the discretion to do so rests with the JP. This ensures timely service is provided to all customers.

JP services are offered during the following times and subject to availability. We recommend you phone ahead to confirm there will be a JP available when you visit:

The Attorney General and Justice department has more information about using the JP service.
