The City of Sydney's efforts to tackle climate change have been praised by the OECD.

The OECD report Climate Change, Employment and Local Development looked at how cities and regions are creating green jobs and developing a skilled workforce to meet the needs of a greener economy.

"The City of Sydney's Sustainable Sydney 2030 presents a bold and compelling vision for how this centrally located area will tackle climate change, global competition, transportation congestion, and half a dozen other major challenges over the next 20 years," the OECD report says.

The City of Sydney has the most ambitious greenhouse gas reduction target of any government in Australia. Through Sustainable Sydney 2030, we are already delivering on that target.

In this podcast, ABC Radio's Adam Spencer hosts a forum where you will hear the Lord Mayor and Monica Barone, the City of Sydney's Chief Executive Officer, explain how we're closing in on the most ambitious greenhouse gas reduction target of any Australian government, 70% by 2030 (on 2006 levels). You will also see an interesting presentation about our progress in the cultural and creative industries, transport, architecture, planning and economic development, and our night time economy policy.
