The City has doubled annual funding for upgrading pocket parks with $4 million now available to ensure up to eight little parks are upgraded every year for the next decade.

Since 2006, the City has revitalised 40 pocket parks across the area, parks being upgraded this year include:
• Devonshire Street Reserve – Surry Hills
• Janet Bierne Playground – Beaconsfield
• Chelsea Street Reserve - Redfern
• St James Park – Glebe
• Edgley Street Reserve – Surry Hills
• Jack Shuttleworth Reserve – Alexandria.

Work will include improved landscaping, new playground and barbecue equipment, as well as safe lighting and better signage.
