A Summer Garden is open every weekend until late March in Sydney as a first taste of our City Farm.
The garden is growing in the section of Sydney Park, St Peters, between the brick kilns and the playground and has community events including sustainability workshops, sheepdog trials, paddock-to-plate cooking and urban gardening.
The City Farm is a collaboration between the City, Powerhouse Museum and the Green Living Centre. A business plan is being developed and a master plan will be drafted later this year, with construction expected to begin in late 2014.
The City Farm will be a place for locals to learn about farming and food production in urban and regional settings. The proposed site is Sydney Park and a secondary site is being considered near the Powerhouse Museum, Ultimo.
