A new pool for Sydney
Prince Alfred Park Pool is open after a $20.5 million refurbishment, the last stage of the City's extensive upgrade to Prince Alfred Park.
It is the City’s first fully accessible, heated outdoor pool. There are bleachers and umbrellas, sky-lit change rooms, shaded areas and a landscaped sunbathing space.
There is a splash deck play area for toddlers and a new café. The surrounding area has new paths, furniture and lights.
The pool complex has the latest filtration systems and incorporates the best in sustainable practices including water-saving fixtures, stormwater harvesting and a green roof of native grasses.
The pool was designed by NeesonMurcutt Architects.
Entry is free till 12 November 2013.
