Art and About
Art and About Sydney
Art and About Sydney is one of Sydney’s favourite public art events where every street, laneway, building site, intersection and thoroughfare in our city is a canvas for creation and storytelling.
Exciting events include:
24 gigantic neon snails will slither into some of Sydney’s most iconic public spaces including Martin Place, Hyde Park and Customs House Square.
The finalists for this year’s prestigious competition will be blown up and exhibited along St James Avenue in Hyde Park.
Following sold out tours in Europe, Sydney’s newest dance company, Shaun Parker & Company, will bring SPILL to Sydney for its Australian debut with 30 free performances and workshops at Victoria Park in Camperdown, Wentworth Park in Ultimo, and Sydney Park in Alexandria.
I Think I Can
Sydneysiders are invited to discover their miniature selves, brought to life in an interactive toy town installation on Central Station’s concourse.
Walking Men Worldwide ™
A celebration of the ‘flashing men’ (and women) that stop traffic around the world and keep pedestrians safe will adorn street banners on some of Sydney’s main roads.
Virtual athletes will sprint inside a central Sydney skyscraper in a real-time visualisation of office energy use. Installed at Deutsche Bank Place, Building Run is a unique project that marries art, technology and sustainability.
