Sydney Park – Wetland 5 Relining & Associated Works

Sydney Park – Wetland 5


City of Sydney has recently completed the upgrade of Wetland 5 and the surrounding south eastern corner landscape. The upgrade works represent the final edition to the park’s wetland / water management system and included:

  • Re-lining the wetland to prevent water loss by installing a waterproof High Density Poly- Ethylene (HDPE) membrane
  • Implementing water circulation by installing a water reticulation system from Wetland No.5 to Wetland No.1
  • Upgrading the surrounding landscape (includes wetland planting and new trees)
  • Consolidation of pathways around the wetland
  • Installation of new lighting; and
  • Installation of new boardwalk.
