Draft planning proposal
The planning proposal will amend the Sydney Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2012. Relevant documents are available for download below.
The objective of the planning proposal is to allow for the development of residential flat buildings, including affordable housing units, ranging from 1-9 storeys in height, and with ground floor retail and commercial development.
Amendment to Sydney Development Control Plan 2012
The changes to Sydney Development Control Plan (DCP) 2012 support the proposed amendments to Sydney LEP 2012, and include more detailed provisions dealing with built form, traffic management, and a link through the site from Wentworth Park to Glebe. More information is available for download below.
Draft planning agreement
The City of Sydney proposes to enter into a planning agreement, available for download below, in connection with the above planning proposal.
The draft planning agreement would ensure the delivery of public benefits including on-site affordable housing, a publicly accessible through-site link, other public domain improvements, and improved sustainability performance of the development.
The 60-day public exhibition and submissions period for the planning proposal closed on Friday 24 May 2013. A public information session to discuss the plans was held on Wednesday 1 May 2013 at the Old Fire Station, 113 Mitchell Road, Glebe. The information session poster is available for download below.
Council and the Central Sydney Planning Committee considered the submissions at their meetings in July 2013 and approved the changes to Sydney LEP 2012 and DCP 2012.
