Developing skills in creative arts

Pine Street Creative Arts Centre

Pine Street Creative Arts Centre is the City of Sydney's community arts centre situated in the heart of the inner west.

We offer a dynamic program of high quality arts courses and workshops, exhibitions and events delivered by specialist tutors and professional artists.

Our aim is to encourage, stimulate and promote local arts and cultural activities. Our community art gallery features a diverse exhibition program that also provides the local community with an affordable public exhibition space, open to solo artist shows and group exhibitions from a range of different organisations. Please refer to the Facilities page below for more information about hiring the space.

Programs for young people

We also have programs for children after school and during school holidays that aim to develop their skills through a range of practices and experiences. The programs nurture a child in their artistic development aiming to build self confidence and a sense of achievement in their work. The programs are designed for children aged 5 to 15 years.

Our youth programs are designed for young people aged from 15 to 26 years ranging from one-off workshops to forums and exhibitions such as the national youth week smart ARTS festival. The courses run after school and during school holidays.

Community outreach

Our outreach program involves our artists helping community organisations develop and deliver quality visual arts programs, which can be run at the centre or off-site. Our staff are qualified and experienced in working with special needs groups to deliver such programs.

Ultimately the outreach work acts as a seeding venture for community organisations to later gain further funding through other avenues to continue independently.

We also deliver our own outreach programs in partnership with other organisations to meet specific community needs.
