Busking and filming

Busking and filming

That's entertainment

Making music

We love music, singing and other types of performances to fill our streets and public places.

To begin performing in a public place, you will be required to fill out an application form and purchase a permit, ensuring you have also read our busking guidelines and policy. The application process is simple and is done over the counter in about 15 minutes. Then all you will need is to find a location.

Some restrictions may apply. For busking in some parts of the local area, you need permission from other agencies.

Sydney on film

Sydney was born to be a star. Its natural beauty, climate, famous landmarks and well-developed infrastructure and facilities make it a popular location for film and television productions, as well as countless photo shoots. Sydney has been used as a backdrop for major Australian productions as well as international blockbusters.

If you’re looking for a filming location and need a starting point, some information on our 10 villages might help. You can also contact our film liaison officer for some advice.

We issue film and television producers with permits and can help you make arrangements for parking, road closures, traffic control, and community liaison.
