Building on our popular school holiday painting and drawing workshops, we are excited to introduce this new after-school workshop program for younger children.

Under the guidance of our talented tutor, kids will focus their creative talents and explore different 2D media including charcoal, ink, pencil and paint, working on canvas and quality art paper.

Over 8 weeks, kids will learn traditional and contemporary methods of portrait, still life and landscape painting and drawing. Through a series of exercises each week, they’ll develop an understanding of formal concepts like composition, colour, perspective and proportion and build practical skills in pencil and brush control and the care of tools and materials.

They’ll gain the confidence to experiment with their own creativity and imagination at home or school.

In this 8 week after-school workshop, kids will learn the fundamentals of ceramic wheel-throwing.

Under the guidance of our experienced tutor, students will get hands-on using the potter’s wheel to make simple cylindrical forms bowls and plates with white raku clay.

They’ll also experiment with surface treatments like brushing on clay slips and glazes.

Students will also get a good understanding of the properties and limits of the material and ideas and thoughts behind the creative process.

This workshop is designed for complete beginners as well as kids with some experience who are looking to improve their skills and gain a solid foundation in wheel-throwing.

Works will be fired and ready to collect approximately 4 weeks after the workshop.

This workshop will use 100% reclaimed clay from the ceramics studio. All brush on glazes and dipping glazes are handmade on site.
