Juanita Nielsen Community Centre
Major upgrade for JNCC
Juanita Nielsen Community Centre's upgrade is now complete. The new-look centre includes:
- a new lift and accessible facilities
- an updated gym, including new change rooms and air conditioning
- a new outdoor play area and new space for children's programs
- new rooms and kitchenette for community hire and classes.
The centre will have more recreational and community programs for all age groups and provide more space for community hire. It will be more accessible and welcoming for the whole community. Lord Mayor Clover Moore launched the refurbished centre on Saturday 19 November 2016.
The new gym will be open Monday 12 December. During relocation, the temporary gym at Mary McDonald Centre is closed for 2 weeks from Monday 28 November to Sunday 11 December and all memberships have been placed on hold.
Yoga, pilates and fitness classes will continue to run at the Rex Centre at 58–60 Macleay Street, Potts Point while the gym at Mary McDonald Centre is closed. These classes will then transfer from the Rex Centre and operate from Juanita Nielsen Community Centre from Monday 19 December 2016.
The after-school and vacation care programs are located at 33–39 Riley Street, Woolloomooloo and will restart at Juanita Nielsen Community Centre in 2017.
