About the centre

Located in the heart of The Rocks, the King George V (KGV) Recreation Centre provides high quality sports and fitness facilities and a range of community services to city residents, workers, students and visitors.

From our multipurpose indoor and outdoor courts to our spacious gym and popular exercise classes, the KGV Recreation Centre really is a one-stop-shop for all of your training needs. Experienced fitness professionals lead group classes and are on hand every day to support, monitor and assist with your training goals.

Community services

KGV offers recreational activities for all ages. We have a community playgroup for the little ones plus after school and holiday programs for school-aged children and a youth program (based at the nearby Abraham Mott Hall) for the older ones.

The centre has multipurpose spaces that community groups and organisations can hire. A KGV community BBQ is held once a month.

We deliver health-related services and City of Sydney programs for youth, people with disabilities and their carers and those who are over the age of 55. KGV also provides community services with our non-profit partners including Disability Services Australia, Street Soccer Sydney and the Wayside Chapel.

Our membership fees help provide these partner programs to community organisations.
