Get more out of life

CrossFit is a blend of weightlifting, endurance and gymnastics – it does not specialise. It is fun and most importantly, it works. It will help you develop the base physical capabilities so you can participate more actively in your own life and community to get more out of life.

CrossFit workouts are commonly only 10 to 15 minutes long but achieve amazing fitness results in a short period of time.

Empirical science is now providing evidence that short intense workouts like CrossFit are more effective for optimal health and wellbeing. It is also a natural way of exercising, through using functional movements and due to the group training methods involved with other like-minded people there is added motivation.

The schedule of CrossFit workouts is planned weeks in advance by professionals who incorporate a balance of movements, methods and metabolic pathways over the long term. Go to CrossFit resources in the next column to watch a selection of videos about CrossFit.

We understand for some people 'getting fit' means losing weight or simply becoming healthier and feeling better. For others it may mean doing better in their chosen sport or competing in the CrossFit Open.

With these factors in mind, our programming goal is to build your physical capabilities beyond your expectations. We know what movements and workouts will get the best results so all you need to do is turn up good to go!

Our classes take care of technique (skill), strength and power, endurance, mobility and recovery – if 1 area is suffering, it will bring down others. At KGV we we also provide ongoing programs and support for good nutrition and sleep. Just ask us and we'll help you out.

Workout of the Day

Experienced CrossFitters

If you've been training with another CrossFit affiliate for more than 6 months at least twice a week you can come and join us at our next class.

If you've been training for less than 6 months we recommend you take our fundamentals course first.

How to get started

  1. Try your first class, free!
  2. Invest in a membership.
  3. Complete the fundamentals program.
  4. You're good to go for CrossFit classes.

Free classes

There is no sales pitch – the decision is yours. Come along and let us show you around, answer any questions you might have and take part in a CrossFit workout, KGV style. You need to register with us by email (see Contacts) before turning up to your free introductory class.

Membership

We have a range of membership options to suit your budget and your lifestyle.

Fundamentals

The program consists of 3 semi-private workouts to teach you the fundamentals of safe movement and introduce you to many of the exercises used in CrossFit workouts. The classes are labelled 'Squat', 'Push', and 'Pull' that can be completed in any order. The classes are only available to term members. If you're after something more gradual, go to our private coaching program below.

Good to go

For the first few months our coaches will help you scale the workouts and weights so you can smoothly transition into full-time CrossFit.
