On 1 April 2016, the YMCA NSW ended their management of the Cook+Phillip Park and Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre having operated these facilities in partnership with the City of Sydney for nine years.
Belgravia Leisure, which currently operate the City’s three outdoor aquatic facilities will now also operate both facilities.
The City is working closely with both Belgravia Leisure and the YMCA NSW to ensure there is minimal disruption to customers during the handover. Members have been notified. Please contact David Burns on 9265 9333 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Health and recreation
Located near the heart of the city centre by St Mary's Cathedral, Cook + Phillip Park Aquatic and Fitness Centre is a high-quality swimming and fitness facility. The centre is open all year round and features full access for people with a disability. The centre has a café and adjacent public car park, too.
We have a 50-metre pool (ideal for lap swimming), a dedicated leisure pool (with a wave machine!) and a hydrotherapy pool. All are indoors and heated.
The fitness centre
The fitness centre has a full-size gym complete with separate cardio and weights studios plus a 'spin' room and another room for yoga, boxing and other group classes. We have the latest equipment and members/guests are supervised by expert staff.
We recently unveiled our new outdoor training area, called the Air Gym.
Cook + Phillip Park Aquatic and Fitness Centre has a multi-purpose court for basketball, indoor soccer and other sports. See below to book online.
