Peter Forsyth Auditorium features a full-size basketball court which is also suitable for indoor soccer, volleyball and netball. The sprung floor makes it ideal for dance, physical theatre and rehearsals. The venue is used for a diverse range of community activities such as tai chi. There is limited court-side seating.

It is available for hire 7 days per week from 7am to midnight.

Activity schedule

Peter Forsyth Auditorium hosts a range of fun activities on the following days:

  • Tuesday: 3pm-6pm – Tweenies club (9-14 years) and a youth club (12-24 years).
  • Friday: 3pm-6pm – 3 on 3 basketball competition (12-24 years).

The auditorium is 21 metres by 35.5 metres. The multipurpose court has limited court-side seating.

Accessibility

Wheelchair access is available from the front entrance and an accessible toilet is available.

Transport and parking

  • Central station is within walking distance.
  • Bus routes 431, 432 and 433 stop on Glebe Point Road, near Derby Place.
  • Limited on-street parking.
  • Free 2-hour parking is available at the nearby Broadway shopping centre.

Auditorium hire fees

  • weekdays until 5pm: $52.50 per hour
  • weekdays, weekends and public holidays after 5pm: $57.50 per hour
  • security deposit (fully refundable): $170
  • community hire rate: 50% discount on standard hire rate.

Additional charges

  • cleaning fee: quotation available on request
  • security fee: quotation available on request
  • room set-up fee: quotation available on request
  • portable PA hire: $250 security deposit per booking
  • commercial kitchen surcharge: booking fee + 25 per cent
  • wedding surcharge: booking fee + 10 per cent.
