Mobility parking scheme permits

If you hold a valid mobility scheme parking permit, you can make use of free parking for the following periods:

  • Where a mobility space has a time limit, you can stay for the time shown on the sign (generally 1 or 2 hours).
  • For a mobility space with no time limit, you can occupy the space as long as needed (in some spaces, this will be until the use of the space changes).
  • In general parking spaces:
    • an unlimited amount of time in parking zones of more than 30 minutes
    • up to 2 hours in parking zones of 30 minutes
    • for parking restrictions less than 30 minutes, for example, 15 minutes, 5 minutes and so on, mobility parking scheme permit holders can park for up to 30 minutes.

Mobility parking scheme permit holders can stop in a no parking zone for up to 5 minutes to drop off or pick up passengers or goods as long as the driver remains within 3m of the vehicle.

Drivers may use loading zones to drop off or pick up passengers, but may only stop for the period during which a person is getting into or out of the vehicle.

Mobility parking scheme permits do not allow a vehicle to stand or park in areas signposted:

  • no stopping
  • taxi zone
  • bus zone
  • work zone
  • clearway.

Map of mobility parking spaces

When mobility spaces are added or removed, following approval from the Local Pedestrian, Cycling and Traffic Calming Committee, we work to update the map as quickly as possible.  Changes are generally reflected in 1 to 2 months.
