How to join
Library membership is free to all City residents, ratepayers and local people at risk (homeless people and people with refugee status). People from outside the local area pay a reasonable annual fee. More on membership.
Fees
Borrowing is generally free. If you can't find a book or other item in our collection and request it from another library (outside our network), you will need to pay small fee. More on inter-library loans.
A few of the services we offer also attract a fee, such as photocopying and sending faxes.
Fines
Fines are charged for overdue, lost or damaged library items. See a list of fines and penalties.
