Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade 2008 (16 images)

City of Sydney volunteer staff, their partners and friends delighted crowds as they danced down Oxford Street in the 30th Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras on Saturday 1 March 2008.

A huge float led the group, featuring a multi-coloured pulsating heart, representing the exciting and dynamic Heart of the City, and Sydney as the heart of the gay and lesbian community.

Dancers grooved to the Deee-Lite song "Groove is in the Heart" to the cheers of onlookers.

The City of Sydney float also reinforced the Mardi Gras theme of looking to a better future by focusing on our own Sustainable Sydney 2030 project and the City's vision to be more green, global and connected.
