Victoria Park Pool Gala Day (27 images)

Improvements to Victoria Park Pool, including the grand opening of a new recreation room, were celebrated with an Open Day on Saturday, 10 February 2007.

Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP was on hand to officially open the room with the ceremonial unveiling of a cast bronze plaque. Residents took advantage of free entry all day, a giant pool float for the kids and those young at heart, free stroke correction and aqua classes and resuscitation and water safety demonstrations.

The new recreation room was also given its first real test, with yoga classes led by Yoga Sanga, boxing classes and Gym for Kids by TriSkills.  All classes and demonstrations were free of charge.

A free lunch was provided for all attendees and many happy residents went away with lucky door prizes, including one Swim and Gym membership worth more than $500.
