Emergency Services have been working together to create emergency plans.
The national telephone number for all emergency services in Australia including Ambulance, Fire, and Police is "000", or "112" if calling from a digital mobile phone.
Should a major emergency or incident take place, the authorities will broadcast a 1800 emergency hotline number to call for information.
Do not dial 000 for general advice or information. If you require the assistance of emergency services for routine matters and non emergency situations then you should call the local number of the required service nearest you. These numbers and other 24-hour emergency numbers can be found in the local White Pages telephone directory.
