Water Cart, Oxford Street Dust was an ever present nuisance in Sydney. Here is the Sydney Municipal Council water cart no.2 at work outside Andy Flanagan’s Burdekin Hotel, Oxford Street, c.1910. The cart is making its way slowly up Oxford Street. If you look closely you can see the water coming out of the horizontal pipe low to the ground at the back of the cart.
