64-70 Oxford Street

McBride’s Buildings, 64-70 Oxford Street, were erected in 1888. The left hand shop at 64 Oxford Street is occupied by George Booth & Co., Printers and Stationers. They sell a wide range of stationery (according to the sign in the entrance window) including pamphlets, circulars, price lists, memos, business cards, visiting cards, programmes, bill heads, handbills, balance sheets, rent receipt books, cash receipt books &c. Many of these products can be seen in the window display. McBride’s Buildings is dominated by H. Goldstein & Company, Furniture Warehousemen. They trade in both new and second hand furniture, and they also hire furniture for balls, parties and theatres. Displayed out the front of their shop are some cast iron bed-heads and pieces of wrought iron garden furniture. A small dresser is by the entrance on the right hand side.
