Improving Smail Street, Ultimo

We’re planting more trees and installing raised median strips.

Project Status: Completed

Works started in August 2023 and were completed in September 2023.

What we’re doing

We’re improving the streetscape and calming traffic by planting new trees within the roadway. This will allow the trees to grow in enough soil and away from overhead cables.

We’re installing:

  • 2 raised landscaped median strips toward the intersections of Blackwattle Lane and Mountain Street
  • 4 new trees to increase the overall canopy cover of the area to meet our greening targets.

Travel lanes and parking lanes will be kept in both directions.

We will take steps to minimise construction impacts on residents.
