Step back in time

The City of Sydney has a range of material for anyone wanting to know more about our history.

The City's History Unit has produced a number of books on Sydney's history, from the contributions of Chinese immigrants to the story of Sydney Town Hall.

The City sells historic 19th-century maps of the inner city, originally produced by Higinbotham & Robinson. These maps are also available to download for free at the Historical Atlas of Sydney.

There is a series of lectures and essays on Sydney's history that can be downloaded for free, and links to other history organisations.
