May Pitt Playground is at 205-209 St Johns Road, Forest Lodge. This site was first built on in the 1870s and was occupied by a butcher’s shop and a house.
It was resumed by the Council in 1949 and the playground was completed in 1953 and named after Mrs May Pitt, an alderman on Glebe Council from 1941 to 1947 and Mayor in 1945-46. She was also the first female member of the Executive of the NSW Local Government Association.
