The City of Sydney Library established its Chinese language collection at Haymarket Library in 1974.
Since then, the collection has developed into the largest Chinese language collection in any Australian public library. Boasting 30,387 items, the collection focuses on popular books and resources. Chinese language resources are also available at Ultimo Library.

Catalogue
Chinese language resources can be located using the library's online catalogue.
Enter your search in Pinyin or Chinese script (using the Penpower pen and mat available at Haymarket Library).
Chinese script information is available for books added to the collection since 2000.
Learning English
The library provides a range of English language learning resources such as language CDs, graded readers, talking books as well as English language study books (grammar, vocabulary, writing skills).
