If you're a local resident, you can attend free dog obedience training lessons with your dog in one of the City of Sydney's dog-friendly parks.
Provided by specialist company Pro Canine, the training courses help you and other dog owners learn and practice the skills you need to maintain a well-mannered dog. The course suits dogs aged 5 months and over.
The course runs over 6 consecutive weeks – see the timetable below or download it in PDF format.
Your dog must have had all necessary vaccinations before you can take part.
Places are limited. To reserve your place, please contact the service provider Pro Canine on 0404 603 950 or visit their website and complete the contact form.
It is important to understand some basic truths about dogs so the whole family can enjoy their company safely.
Our fact sheets explain:
- barking dogs – what to do
- dog waste – how to pick it up safely
- fences and roaming – how to manage dogs
- fun ways to teach kids about playing it safe around dogs.
See our page about off-leash areas for your dog to exercise.
