Free obedience training courses

Local residents can attend free dog obedience training with their canine, in one of the City of Sydney's dog-friendly parks.

Provided by Pro Canine, a specialist training company, the courses helps owners learn and practice the skills they need to maintain a well-mannered dog.

The course runs over 6 consecutive weeks – see the timetable below for May 2014 – and it suits dogs aged 5 months and over.

Your dog must have had all necessary vaccinations before you can take part.

Places are limited. To reserve your place, please contact the service provider Pro Canine on 0404 603 950 or visit their website and complete the contact form.

Educating owners

It is important to understand some basic truths about dogs so the whole family can enjoy their company safely.

Our fact sheets, available for download below, explain what to do with a dog who barks excessively, how to pick up your dog's waste safely, and why owners should keep dogs behind their fence to stop them from roaming.

Keeping children safe

This fact sheet is designed to help parents teach children in a fun way about playing it safe around dogs.

They are perfect for printing out (download below) and colouring in.
