Pocket pets
Pets come in all shapes and sizes, and many of our residents keep rats, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs and other ‘pocket size’ pets. The NSW RSPCA website has information on caring for pocket pets.
The City does not endorse keeping snakes and/or other native Australian wildlife as pets. As noted by the RSPCA, such animals are “adapted to the wild, rarely enjoy human company or handling and are predominantly nocturnal in their habits”.
Wildlife
If you see an injured native animal in the City, report it to WIRES on 02 8977 3333.
