Request a care worker permit

Parking permits are available for workers who provide in-home services to City of Sydney residents. By displaying a permit, the care worker's nominated vehicle will be exempt from certain parking restrictions while they are doing home visits. Organisations should apply on behalf of care worker staff.


To apply, care organisations must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be routinely engaged in the provision of in-home care services.
  2. Conduct, or be expected to conduct, more than 60 home visits per year in total to clients within the City of Sydney.
  3. Have an appropriate accreditation from, or written support of the Department of Family and Community Services – Ageing Disability and Home Care, an Area Health Service of the NSW Department of Health or any other Commonwealth, state or non-government health body approved by the City of Sydney.

A care worker permit costs $50.00 and is valid for 1 year.

Permitted use

A permit can only be used for on-street parking when the care worker is conducting a home visit within the local area. Permits are not issued for permanent/overnight parking of service provider vehicles.
