Go green, pay less

The City of Sydney is committed to environmental leadership and reducing greenhouse gas emissions to address global warming.

On 1 July 2008, the City introduced new pricing of Resident and Business parking permits to encourage the use of greener vehicles and reward sustainable choices.

Permit fees for greener vehicles are lower than for vehicles that emit high levels of greenhouse gas and air pollution.

The new permit fees are based on the star rating of your vehicle in the Federal Government's Green Vehicle Guide.

The Green Vehicle Guide includes all new car models from 2004. To find out your car's rating visit greenvehicleguide.gov.au.

If your vehicle is not listed in the GVG, you will pay the standard permit fee.
