Sydney New Year’s Eve / What's on
The Sydney New Year's Eve experience starts with Pre-Show Entertainment in the late afternoon, the 9pm Family Fireworks and plenty of surprises on the harbour in the countdown to Midnight.
Make sure you get there early to see all the entertainment and to get a good vantage point for the fireworks shows later in the evening.

Here in Sydney we have an amazing spirit – soulful, sexy and sophisticated, and this Sydney New Year’s Eve we want to celebrate and awaken her spirit for the New Year ahead.
My Aboriginal ancestors believe that we need to gather and awaken the spirit each year, to stir up that spirit within our land, water, sky and of course people. New Year’s Eve is much the same, it’s a time of excitement and new beginnings.
Sydney’s incredible spirit is reflected by the colour blue, like our stunning blue harbour and gorgeous blue summer sky. We want everyone to wear their own touch of blue to this Sydney New Year’s Eve, to gather and celebrate Sydney’s great spirit of life!

Pre-Show Entertainment
Spectacular aerial displays, Smoking Ceremony and Acknowledgment of Country will awaken Sydney’s spirit from 5pm.
9pm Family Fireworks
A stunning display of fireworks synchronised to a music soundtrack from much loved children’s movies and pop songs.
Harbour of Light Parade
Following the 9pm Family Fireworks, a flotilla of vessels adorned with themed lighting will make its way around Sydney Harbour.
Midnight Fireworks
The world's most epic fireworks display will light up Sydney Harbour to welcome the New Year.
TV & Radio Broadcasts
Official radio media partner 2DayFM is the exclusive broadcaster of the fireworks soundtracks and live coverage of the fireworks will be televised nationally on Channel 9.
Other Events
There are a number of other great events held on New Year’s Eve, from a picnic at the Zoo to stylish events at the Royal Botanic Gardens.
