Green Square library and NSC
Upgrading the Tote
The Green Square Library and Neighbourhood Service Centre, or the ‘Tote’, has become a friendly and informative hub for the local community.
Located at 100 Joynton Avenue in Zetland, we’re now improving the building to make it even better and accessible for everyone.
Open for all
A new lift will provide access to the second and third floors.
These floors will be fitted out for a range of community uses, such as arts and crafts, meetings, classes and seminars and gentle exercise. These renovated spaces will have kitchen facilities.
The ground floor public space will be reconfigured, enlarging the reading room and computer area.
The renovations have been planned to respect the heritage value of the building and work will comply with heritage guidelines.
Work will start in October and should finish by early 2014.
Please come in
During the renovations, the library and customer service will remain open. However, we will have to reduce some services and the building may be a little noisier than usual.
The book collection will be reduced, but you’ll still be able to order books from other branches, return books and enjoy the magazines and papers. A computer will be available as well as wifi, but the number of desks will be reduced. Customer Service can still look after most of your customer needs, except for busking permits, the onsite planner and JP services.
