O’Briens Lane Reserve upgrade works

Providing the local community with a high-quality park that maximises useable green space and has improved pedestrian access.

Project Status: Completed

What we’re doing

We renewed O'Briens Lane Reserve on the corner of Bourke and Stanley streets in Darlinghurst, to give the local community a high-quality pocket park.

We wanted to make the reserve and O'Briens Lane more appealing and even safer for people to walk through.

Works included:

  • new useable grass space and an accessible path through the park
  • new trees and planting
  • improved solar access and clear sightlines through the park
  • new energy-efficient LED lighting and
  • a raised, paved surface for O'Briens Lane to create a seamless transition from the lane to the park.
