We recently installed kerbside hedges on Cleveland Street between South Dowling Street and George Street, improving the look and feel of the area.
These works have been well received by the community and we are now extending the hedge and paving work along Cleveland Street, from Regent Street in the east to City Road in the west. You can download draft plans at the bottom of this page.
Cleveland Street is a state-owned road and Roads and Maritime Services requires work to be carried out during the night.
The City's contractor, Ford Civil Contracting Pty Ltd, will start work in early January and carry it out in stages to minimise disruption.
Ford Civil Contracting will notify residents and businesses of construction times and dates before works are due to start outside their property.
Where bins are collected on Cleveland Street, spaces on either side of new and existing trees will be left for residents to place their bins for waste collection.
There will be no changes to current parking arrangements. When clearways are not in operation, cars will continue to be able to park on Cleveland Street. Regular paved breaks in the hedging will allow people to access parked cars from the footpath. Hedges will be set back from the kerb so people can get in and out of cars.
