Missenden Road upgrade

Improving pedestrian safety  

We are improving Missenden Road between Parramatta Road and King Street, to make it safer for commuters and people accessing local health care and education facilities.

Our improvements will create more space for walking and safer connections to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, University of Sydney and King Street's retail and entertainment precinct.

Works completed to date 

  • New concrete footpath and garden beds between Lucas and Grose streets.
  • New footpath continuation at Professor Marie Bashir Centre driveway.
  • New paving and planting along King George V building.
  • Shared pedestrian crossing at Grose Street.
  • New paving between Campbell Street and Carillon Avenue.
  • New footpath continuation at Campbell and Longdown streets.
  • Footpath continuations at intersections of Marsden and Briggs streets.
  • Traffic signals and paving at the intersection of Salisbury Road.
  • Paving and garden beds from Carillon Avenue to Salisbury Road.

Current works

  • Traffic signal works at Carillion Avenue. Night works will be required.
  • Footpath continuation at intersection of Broderick Street.

Upcoming works

  • Kerb extensions for pedestrian crossings at intersections of Marsden and Dunblane streets.

Working hours

Mondays to Friday 7:30am to 5:30pm, Saturday 7.30am to 3.30pm.

Taxi zone at Missenden Road has been permanently moved to Salisbury Road.
