Goulburn Street car park
Car park upgrade
Goulburn Street parking station, located to the south of the city centre above the City Circle railway tunnel, is almost 50 years old. The City operates the building, the land belongs to RailCorp and is held under lease until 31 December 2059.
The City is currently doing major upgrades to the south facades of the parking station. The work will ensure the building continues to operate safely, while protecting its structure and that of the rail corridor.
As well as improving the appearance of the building, the upgrade is making room for the installation of a major public artwork that will transform Goulburn Street.
Work includes:
- Major repairs on the south facades
- Upgrade on lifts (complete)
- Repairs to ensure compliance to the building code (in progress)
- Upgrading the footpaths around the building.
Footpaths along both streets will remain open for use during this work.
Work usually takes place Monday to Friday (between 7am and 7pm) and on Saturdays (7am and 5pm).
The parking station is open for business as usual during the construction work.
