Perry Park

A new multi-purpose sports centre

A multi-purpose facility is proposed for Alexandria’s Perry Park.

The park covers 24,000 square metres and its location, 500 metres from the Green Square train station and next to the Bourke Road cycleway, positions the park perfectly to cater for future community needs. A feasibility study was carried in 2008 that looked at ways to improve the park.

A thorough design process is taking place including community consultation to allow interested groups discuss the proposed plans.

Candalepas Associates has been appointed as head design consultant.

The proposed new facilities will include:

  • An indoor sports centre
  • Multi-purpose synthetic field
  • General park improvements including better paths, lighting and new trees
  • Sustainable initiatives including stormwater capture and re-use, improved building ventilation and the use of environmentally-sound materials in the development.

The City will continue to keep the community informed as the design process continues.
