Draft Interim Floodplain Management Policy
Exhibition period closed
The City of Sydney’s draft Interim Floodplain Management Policy is a responsible and forward-thinking approach to manage flooding issues.
The policy will ensure development in the City is not at undue risk of flood, and that proposals do not increase flood risk for existing properties.
The interim policy will operate until the City completes floodplain risk management plans for the City's entire local area and then integrates these outcomes into planning controls.
The policy is a response to the NSW Government’s Flood Prone Land Policy, which makes local councils responsible for managing flood risk.
The exhibition period closed on Monday 28 October 2013. Submissions closed at the end of the exhibition period.
