Green Square Town Centre Library and Plaza

The City of Sydney invites submissions on a draft planning proposal for the Green Square Town Centre Library and Plaza, and a draft amendment to the Green Square Town Centre Development Control Plan 2012 (Town Centre DCP 2012).
The Green Square Library and Plaza will be located in the future Green Square town centre on the eastern side of Botany Road, directly opposite Green Square railway station.
The draft planning proposal seeks to amend the Sydney Local Environmental Plan (Green Square Town Centre) 2013 (Town Centre LEP 2013) and includes changes to height controls and building envelopes to allow the Library and Plaza to develop as designed.
The draft amendment to the Town Centre DCP 2012 includes detailed controls that update the DCP and reflect the future public domain and transport.
The exhibition of the draft planning proposal is in accordance with section 57 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
The exhibition of the draft amendment to the Town Centre DCP 2012 is in accordance with part 3 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000.
If Council approves this planning proposal following public exhibition, it is authorised to exercise the functions of the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure, under section 59 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 to make the amendments to the Town Centre LEP 2013.
The draft Sydney Local Environmental Plan (Green Square Town Centre) 2013 (the draft Town Centre LEP 2013) referred to in the planning proposal at pages 4, 6, 7, 8 and 17 has now been made and is available on the NSW Legislation website.
The exhibition period closed on Tuesday 17 December 2013. Submissions closed at the end of the exhibition period. The exhibition documents are available for informational purposes.
