Planning proposal and draft DCP amendment for sites in Waterloo and Alexandria

Exhibition closed

The City of Sydney is amending the planning controls for Waterloo Park in Green Square and for 18 Huntley Street, Alexandria.

The changes include amendments to both the Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2012 and the Sydney Development Control Plan 2012.

Waterloo Park in Green Square

The Waterloo Park precinct is bounded by McEvoy, George, Bourke and Young streets, Waterloo. The planning proposal will amend the zoning of the precinct from R1 general residential to B4 mixed uses to recognise current non-residential uses. It will also amend the height controls for some sites to address a mismatch with floor-space ratios.

The draft amendment to the Sydney Development Control Plan 2012 includes changes to the built form provisions and locality statement for the Waterloo Park precinct. This will reflect the proposed change in zoning and height control.

18 Huntley Street, Alexandria

The draft amendment to the Sydney Development Control Plan 2012 also amends the built form provisions for 18 Huntley Street, Alexandria to allow for a proposed realignment of the stormwater easement affecting the site.
