Proposed safety improvements: Meagher Street, Chippendale
Exhibition period closed
The City of Sydney proposed to improve safety at the intersection of Meagher and Regent streets, Chippendale.
The proposal is designed to reduce crashes at the intersection, reduce the volume of traffic through the eastern half of Chippendale, and make it safer and easier for pedestrians to cross Meagher Street. As an added benefit, the proposal would also increase the number of on-street parking spaces in Meagher Street.
The proposed works will be jointly funded by the City of Sydney and the NSW Government under the 2013/14 Black Spot Program. The program funds safety improvements at dangerous locations where high rates of road crashes occur.
The exhibition period closed on Friday 27 September 2013. Submisssions closed at the end of the exhibition period.
City staff will review all submissions and prepare a report for the Local Pedestrian, Cycling and Traffic Calming Committee to consider at its meeting on 16 October 2013 at 2pm. If you would like to attend, please advise Claudia Calabro on 02 9265 9648, at least 3 days before the meeting.
Submissions may be made available to the public if the City receives a request under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009.
