Public presentation of the 2012/13 financial statements

Each year, individual local governments across NSW are required to present a set of audited financial statements to their Council and community.
The statements set out the financial performance, position and cash flows of Council for the financial year ended 30 June 2013. The statements also contain explanatory notes for the major components of financial performance being income and expenditure, and for financial position encompassing assets and liabilities.
The 2012/13 financial statements have been prepared for the City of Sydney in accordance with applicable Australian accounting standards and interpretations issued by the Australian Accounting Standards Board, the Local Government Act 1993 and Regulations, and the Local Government Code of Accounting Practice and Financial Reporting.
The annual financial statements are comprised of:
- general purpose financial statements
- special purpose financial statements.
The audited financial reports and the auditors reports for the financial year ending 30 June 2013 will be presented in accordance with Section 418 (3) of the Local Government Act 1993 at the Ordinary Council Meeting to be held on 18 November 2013.
The exhibition period closed on Monday 18 November 2013.
