Emergency response for rough sleepers

Providing accommodation and other services during extreme weather and urgent events.

Following a partnership response to extreme storms in April 2015, along with the NSW Family and Community Services, we established the emergency response protocol for rough sleepers. The protocols help coordinate and provide accommodation and other services for rough sleepers in the local area.

The response is activated in severe weather events and other emergencies where mainstream services do not cater for conditions posing risks for health and wellbeing of people with no access to appropriate shelter.
