Supporting Sydney’s economic, social and cultural sector recovery, the knowledge exchange sponsorship program encourages sharing in knowledge, expertise, resources and skills.

The sponsorship can include support for programs with a focus on cultural, social and community, economic or environmental outcomes.

We encourage applications that seek to:

Cultural sector support

  • Increase inclusion and participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse artists
  • Activate space and vacant commercial property for cultural space
  • Research and develop a mechanism to source and provide philanthropic funding to cultural operators
  • Research models to scale up cultural infrastructure.

Social and community support

  • Strengthen community cohesion to build the resilience of local communities
  • Enable and increase digital inclusion
  • Increase the affordability and accessibility of healthy and nutritious food
  • Improve the rights of tenants.

Economic outcomes

  • Support business and sector innovation and adaptation
  • Develop digital, innovation and entrepreneurial skills
  • Promote business sector knowledge and networks at scale.

Environmental outcomes

  • Build capacity for residential strata communities
  • Promote alternatives to single use items to address this waste issue at scale
  • Accelerate a green economic recovery
  • Educate and advocate for sustainable regenerative business communities.

Please see grants and sponsorship guidelines for expected program outcomes, assessment criteria, and eligibility.

Funding available

The knowledge exchange sponsorship program provides support generally for amounts between $5,000-$40,000 and support for value-in-kind venue hire and banner pole hire.

Funded organisations may be required to provide sponsorship benefits back to the City of Sydney community in return for funding. These benefits will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis and can be up to the value of the funding provided.
