Democratising technology – Jim McKelvey on the Square revolution

On 22 May 2018, Jim McKelvey joined Lord Mayor Clover Moore and a panel of business leaders to examine the local and global effects of democratising technology.


In 2009, Jim McKelvey co-founded Square, a high-growth $20 billion fintech startup that revolutionised mobile payments for millions of small businesses.


At this CityTalks Sydney, he discussed the role of the consumer and the implications of greater participation in technological development.
