Project details

To manage the impacts of flooding in the Zetland area, we are proposing to construct a stormwater trunk drain in Joynton Avenue between O’Dea Avenue and Elizabeth Street.

Indicative diagram shows how the microtunnelling machine is aligned on a jacking frame from the launch pit and jacking pipes move it to the retrieval pit under the roadway.

We exhibited a review of environmental factors from 23 May 2016 to 6 June 2016.

It included factors such as:

  • design and operational requirements
  • construction impacts and mitigation measures
  • impacts on flora and fauna
  • legislative requirements and approvals.

The drain will be constructed using micro-tunnelling to minimise impacts on traffic and residents. These works will also connect to the Green Square stormwater drain that will run from Link Road to Alexandra Canal.

Work is expected to start in 2017. Our contractors will work to minimise the noise and impacts during this time.
