Planning controls for Millers Point

Planning controls for Millers Point

Following community consultation, Council approved the proposed changes to planning controls for Millers Point heritage conservation area.

View decision

We sought feedback on changes to the planning controls for properties in the Millers Point heritage conservation area.

These changes will better protect the local and state heritage significance of Millers Point. The public exhibition has formally closed but if you would still like to make a submission please contact Ben Pechey, Manager Planning Policy on 02 9265 9333 or email

The proposal sets the existing building height and floor space as the maximum and allows additions subject to a conservation plan and assessment of heritage impacts. The development potential of buildings that are not heritage items will be retained.

We will consider all submissions and report the results to Council and the Central Sydney Planning Committee. If supported by Council, the proposal will be sent to the Greater Sydney Commission for final approval.
