Planning for Sydney 2050 – children and youth summits

Closed

The main outcomes from the children and youth summits will form part of our next community strategic plan.

Planning for 2050

We’re consulting the community on a long-term plan for Sydney to 2050. As part of this consultation we’ve developed a range of activities and programs to let primary and high school students have their say on the issues affecting the city and its future.

From April to June 2019, we ran 20 workshops with 19 schools in the City of Sydney local area. Some of the schools are on the border with neighbouring council areas. From the data collected during these sessions, we’ve prepared the consultation report Our future Sydney.

Next term the City will conduct 2 follow-up summits.

We would like to invite students from local schools to attend and deliberate further on the future priorities that are highlighted in the report Our future Sydney. The events will offer an exciting and interactive exploration of the issues raised by the students in our recent consultations. Each summit will culminate in your students presenting recommendations for action to our local government leaders.
